Here is the Heresy
Have you ever heard that your righteousness is as filthy rags? The scripture used justify this false teaching is Isaiah 64:6. Many use it to declare that you can do nothing to please God. It is true that we can do no “good works” to earn our salvation. But doing works of righteousness this side of eternity is absolutely essential to our Jesus Journey.
Here is the Truth
With the repentance of our sins (justification) comes entrance into the Kingdom of God. Now Holy Spirit begins to work with us to conform us into the image of Christ (sanctification). As we continue to grow we continue to walk in righteousness performing righteous acts. At the first resurrection we will be judged for those acts and subsequently heaven will become our eternal home (glorification).
