What is The PerishNot Project all about?

The PerishNot Project has one focus…MAKING DISCIPLES for the Kingdom of God. We do that by…

A: Reaching the Lost

B: Preaching to the Lost

C: Teaching the Won

To reach the lost we employ a strategy that embodies a 4 step approach. Attention, Interest, Evaluation & Decision are the mental and emotional components humanity undertake when making decisions. Stair stepping the lost through these dynamics will ultimately lead to a decision for Christ. Some will reject and others will repent.

Those who repent are invited to learn more about the decision they made and the eternal destiny associated with it. To those who reject we invite them to stay in touch with us so they can learn the eternal destiny associated with the choice they made.

Reaching The Lost

Grabbing the attention of an individual person or a group of people is an easy thing to do. They are as numerous as you can imagine. Personal on the street evangelism, adding a tract when you tip your waiter or a social media posting are a sampling. The main goal is to capture their ATTENTION. Once you have it then we look to see if we have generated any  INTEREST. Initial evidence of success is the the person / group will stop and listen for a bit. Your waiter may stop and read the tract. The one surfing social media click on the Learn More feature in the posting. As they listen / read they are in a contemplative mode which will give away to an EVALUATION.

Preaching to the Lost

Yet preaching to the lost takes on many forms. The talks we have with those on the street, the tracts we hand to others are designed to synchronize with the ministry of Holy Spirit. Loud shouting on a soap box has its place and time but personal evangelism is more sacred and subtle. People don’t care how much you know as they want to know how much you care. Being an authentic person who truly cares for another is magnetic. Holy Spirit will then begin to perform His ministry of convicting the world of sin, righteousness and judgment as the Word of God goes forth.

Biblical evangelism follows a roadmap of “Law to the proud & Grace to the humble.”  As Paul told the church at Galatia, THEREFORE the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come we no longer need a tutor (Gal 3:24-25 NASB).

The preaching of the Law is very powerful as the individual under the conviction from Holy Spirit self-incriminates him / herself as to their breaking of the Ten Commandments.  We can now watch body language or the direction the questions are going to catch a glimpse of what their DECISION might be.

Teaching the Lost

We have grabbed their ATTENTION and they have displayed an INTEREST by stopping and listening to our preaching. As they self-incriminate to breaking of Gods’ Law we now share what the Bible declares what happens to those who break the Law of God. EVALUATIONS of the information shared are now running through the minds of the hearers. Now we ask them for their DECISION. Will they repent of their sinful behavior and trust Christ as their ONLY path to salvation from an eternity spent in hell. Some choose that path while others reject the Message and fall back on their many excuses, examples or explanations regarding the many self-perceived errors of the Message.

To those who reject the evidence that has been presented thus Holy Spirit has once again fulfilled the words of Jesus by “drawing all men to Myself’.”  To these we offer an open and continued dialogue to answer any additional questions.  We are confident that the seeds we have sown in faithfulness will be watered by others. Holy Spirit will continue His ministry to them as they walk their journey towards eternity.

To those who repent of their sinful life, see the need for Christ and His sacrifice for their sins we welcome them into the Kingdom. We provide them with some brief materials to reaffirm their decision as well as provide them with the next steps in their new life in Christ. We have a discipleship program that follows the model of the Pre-Nicene church.

This is what making disciples is all about…this is what The PerishNot Project is all about.

What Do We Believe

Apostles Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth;

and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried.

He descended to Hades, on the third day rose again from the dead, ascended to heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there He will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic [or universal] church, the communion ofsaints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting.

Biblical Evangelism 101

Listen to Ray Comfort share the gospel in 4 minutes to this young man at Seal Beach. Ray has already captured his ATTENTION and peaked his INTEREST. As the Law is preached to this proud young man, you can see the conviction of Holy Spirit at work. Soon the young man makes an EVALUATION. Ray then asks him for a DECISION.
