BETWEEN HEAVEN AND EARTH
While the body of Jesus remained suspended between heaven and earth for three hours His spirit had departed. Jesus descended into the lower parts of the earth in continuation of God’s plan to restore order to the Creation Continuum. Jesus went and preached to the spirits in prison. These spirits in prison were those who were upon the earth at the time of Noah. For when men began to multiply upon the earth the sons of God saw the beauty of the women and took them as wives. The sons of God were demonic angelic beings who procreated with women and subsequently children were born. Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of mankind was great upon the earth for their mind was set upon evil continually. He was grieved in His heart for He was sorry He made man upon the earth. God chose to destroy man and beast, every creeping thing and birds of the air. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. As for the sons of God at that time they were cast down to Tartarus. There bound in chains of darkness they are reserved for judgment. They were a segment of Satan’s soldiers that violated the divine order set by the Creator. They left their proper domain and their own abode. It was not enough for Satan to tempt mankind with sin but he also incorporated a strategy of polluting the human race. Satan had beaten the human race in the garden east of Eden but now he sought to commingle with them. If this were allowed to continue generation upon generation the effects upon the Creation would have been devastating. God could not allow this and thus He intervened. What was the message Jesus preached to the spirits in prison? Were they given a chance to repent or are they forever assigned to the corridors of the doomed and the damned? We do not know what that message was but rest assured the righteousness of God was on display during that sermon. Those angelic anarchists consigned to Tartarus will one day be judged and assuredly they will find their part in the lake of fire and brimstone along with their twisted leader Satan.
THE DEMONIC DUNGEON
Now Jesus turns his attention to Satan himself. The last time they met was in the barrenness of the Judean wilderness. Yet this time it was in the darkness of the demonic dungeon of the devil himself. Jesus had come for the keys to Hades and of Death which must be relinquished. The obedient choices made by Jesus maintained His purity as the spotless lamb slain from the foundation of the world; unlike Adam who originally in the garden east of Eden had not. When Adam chose to sin he lost his authority and his dominion to rule over the earth and to keep it. The obedient and sacrificial death of Jesus regained the authority for the human race. Jesus was not subject to the penalty of the Law of Sin and Death. By offering up His own life Jesus paid a debt He did not owe because humanity owed a debt they could not pay. God in His infinite wisdom made the choice to become a man, who is lower in creation stature, heavenly wisdom, and spiritual vision to defeat through the power of choice and free will, one greater than the Son of Man. Jesus was a ransom for the human race. Jesus who knew no sin and therefore free from the penalty of death willingly at the command of God subjected Himself to pay the penalty once and for all to free mankind. Mankind now stood in a new and redemptive position in the sight of God. Whosoever would come to God in humility, renounce their rebellious ways, make confession and offer repentance would be forgiven of their sins and transferred into the kingdom of Heaven. Jesus took upon Himself the wrath of God that was rightly directed to the human race. From the time of the arrest of Jesus until He gave up His spirit on the cross, God poured out His wrath upon His Son. What was meant for you and I fell upon Him at God’s initiation. Why would God choose to become a man and then subject Himself to that creation? Was it because He loved mankind so much that He had to become one of them to free them? No, He had to become lower man in order to defeat greater angel through the power of choice and free will. God’s plan of restoring order to His Creation Continuum is well under way as the curtains falls upon the third act.
